MARTE-C 2026 Design Specifications

MARTE-C 2025, nicknamed Po, was designed and built from scratch to collect lunar regolith simulant and construct it into berms.
Key Elements of Po's Design:
  • A modular drivetrain and payload design
  • A brand-new aluminum drivetrain frame and powertrain design
  • A double trencher excavation design that plunged up to eight inches to collect regolith
  • A full software rewrite
  • LiDAR localization and full-cycle autonomy
  • Both an onboarding ramp and an offloading backdoor to maximize regolith retention

Astrobotics 2026 Outreach
One of Alabama Astrobotics' central efforts is the Team's outreach program. Every year, the Team partners with K-12 schools in the Tuscaloosa area and beyond to engage students in STEM.
